**Dear reader**,
by some chance, you've arrived here, and for that, I offer you a welcome.
This digital garden is a passion project where I share whatever crosses my mind; it serves as a collection and compendium of anything that interests me.
Its entries mostly orbit around art- and design-centered topics, such as 3D art, clay sculpting and photography, but also include unrelated personal entries and explorations, which are collected in the ==Musings== branch. In many ways, this place is an unbound extension of blog on my portfolio website [stephanlevin.com](https://www.stephanlevin.com/blog).
> As I'm currently re-designing and re-structuring my portfolio website, it remains offline for the unforeseeable future. My digital garden currently represents my main site.

This garden is built on **Obsidian Publish**. If you're curious about the setup or are thinking of building your own, I've documented the entire process: [[Behind the Garden]].
## What is a Digital Garden?
A digital garden is a collection of thoughts and ideas, often focused, as in my case, on personal interests or studies. It's basically a blend between a digital notebook and a public blog, with content that cultivates and grows over time, like a seed planted in a garden.
Unlike a blog, which typically follows a linear structure, a digital garden uses non-linear connections, linking related notes through internal links to form an interconnected web of thoughts.
For a better overview, I'm sorting all entries into dedicated branches, which are simply menus collecting all notes on a relevant topic. You can find more on my digital garden's structure and how to navigate it on the [[Compass]] page.
> For a deeper dive into the topic, I highly recommend Maggie Appleton's essay, ["A Brief History & Ethos of the Digital Garden."](https://maggieappleton.com/garden-history)
## Who am I?
I am 26-year-old artist and designer, focusing on character sculpting, figurative design, and collectible art, still in the midst of unraveling that very question myself. Yet, I believe that the true answer to this question might reveal itself more fully through the content you'll encounter here, particularly as this digital garden grows and evolves.
