Recently, I've been getting a lot of videos recommended from the *Warhammer 40K* universe, and I'm starting to really get hooked on the story. I watched a few videos on *Dreadnoughts* specifically today, and I'm just fascinated by the lore (and also asking myself who came up with this).
Just to give a brief taste of what I mean, Dreadnoughts are war machines piloted by a Space Marine (a soldier of the most elite fighting force in the universe) who has suffered severe injury and trauma, and has been mutilated and crippled beyond recovery. Whatever's left of the chosen Marine has been "honoured" with essentially being put into a sarcophagus filled with a numbingly cold amniotic fluid, sustaining the remains. The machine is controlled by the Marine's thoughts alone, while the Marine remains forever locked in this metal womb, destined for a life of endless battles until destroyed. [^1][^2]

Having now developed a strong curiosity to learn more about the universe, I began doing some research on the best approach to get into the lore and discovered [==**The Lexicanum**==](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Main_Page). It's essentially a Warhammer Wikipedia, sourcing its information from official books, games, and magazines published by Games Workshop.
Seems like I dug myself a new rabbit hole to dive into.
