# The Gift, Without a Recipient Planted: 11 November 2025
Last tended: 11 November 2025 One of my dearest activities of the past years has always been working on presents and surprises. Nothing ever got close to feeling as fulfilling and rewarding as planning, preparing, and creating a surprise or gift, be it something self-made, purchased or even an activity. For this year, I had two such projects in the queue. One was a self-made necklace, as I wanted to dive a bit into jewelry design and smithing for some time now. The other one was a bronze sculpture of an object with great significance: the place where it all started. At the beginning of this year, I was already deep into researching this second project (as it was the most exciting one to me) and even found an artist who potentially could have helped me with the casting part of it. Tragically, this planned gift lost its recipient this year. For months its files have been floating around on my computer, with me not knowing if I should keep or delete them. Over time, they came with an incredible weight tied to them, as this would have been the biggest personal art project (and present) I'd ever worked on. I'm glad I didn't delete them. I decided to finish this project, but now as a love letter to what once was: the most beautiful years of my life. Each artwork comes with its story. This artwork's story found an abrupt ending, yet that doesn't mean that the artwork itself has to stay undone. I'm going to document the entire process in my ==WIP Log branch==, in [[In Love, Forever Yours,|this entry]]. Let this be the only entry revealing its background story.
